Online entrepreneurs typically learn their trade by trial and error.  But there are bachelor and master degree programs that concentrate on ecommerce. Here is a list of degree programs that focus on ecommerce. All of the schools have physical campuses, though some also run online degree programs.

The eBusiness Technology program of study prepares students to play a variety of mission critical roles in leveraging the power of technology across the enterprise, and to provide technical leadership and an informed strategic vision. The program consists of a series of ecommerce team-related challenges that are completed in a mock-company workplace. Tuition is $51,300 per year.

Creighton University – Master of Science in Information Technology and Management (MS-ITM) Program. Technology touches every aspect of business, and graduates of the MS-ITM program are prepared to set the pace, bringing a values-centered perspective to the business world. The course of study provides a synergy between technology and management and is designed to meet the demands of the constantly evolving business-technology environment. The program offers an ecommerce concentration. Tuition is $704 per credit hour.

Dalhousie University – Master of Electronic Commerce (MEC). This program features the collaboration of three faculties to provide an education in legal, management and computing concepts. It blends coursework, research, and business experience to offer a commanding overview of ecommerce. This multi-disciplinary program can be completed in as little as one and a half years. Tuition is $4,141.50 per semester.

DePaul University – MBA Concentration in E-Business. This concentration is designed for business professionals who participate in or manage the e-business process. Graduates will be literate in the design, social and political implications, and engineering of ecommerce projects. To complete the e-business concentration, students must take two courses, “Electronic Business” and “E-Business Strategies,” and choose an information technology elective. Tuition is $900 per credit hour.

Illinois Institute of Technology – Master of Science in Information Architecture. The Master of Science in Information Architecture enhances a technical communication core with specialized concepts, skills and tools for designing, implementing and managing websites and related media. The program has a specialization in ecommerce, as well as web design, databases, and visual design. Tuition is $1,056 per credit hour.

Lancaster University – Masters in E-Business and Innovation (EBIN). The Masters in E-Business and Innovation (EBIN) is a multidisciplinary program designed for graduates wanting to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to shape innovation in e-business and ecommerce brought about by Internet, mobile, and multimedia technologies. The program uses practice-oriented teaching based on real-world examples. It features teaching partnerships with SAP and IBM. Tuition is £13,000 per year.

McMaster University – MBA (eBusiness Major). The program’s ecommerce specialty provides students with the technical and managerial background required for leadership roles in electronic businesses and industries of today and tomorrow. Up to 50 percent of the courses taken by e-business students relate to the technical aspects of electronic commerce, such as website engineering, programming, network communication, interface design and intelligent agents. Purdue University – MBA E-business Option. The e-business option focuses on an integrated understanding of the impact of ecommerce. Course areas include marketing, finance, operations, organizational behavior, accounting, economics, strategy and information systems. Stratford University – MBA Information Technology and e-Commerce. Stratford University is an online and on-campus school. Through this online degree program, students have the opportunity to specialize in information technology and ecommerce. Provided with theories and technical skills, students will have strong foundation on ecommerce website development, relational database management, information technology, corporate transformation and project management to complement the core courses in business administration.
