19 New Productivity Apps in Feb. 2013

The month of February brought new wi-fi apps, an established image editor, note-taking tools, backup and file management apps, a browser, a mailbox, and a very promising smart calendar.

Here is a list of February’s new mobile productivity apps for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Phone. There are both paid and free apps.


Skype WiFi. Get online at over one million wi-fi hotspots around the world. Pay per-minute with Skype Credit. Only pay for the time you’re connected — no limits on the amount of data you can upload or download. Price: App is free.

Sidebar Pro. Enhance your smartphone with a sidebar of your favorite apps. Simply swipe in from the edge of the screen to gain instant access to the apps you use most. Price: $1.99.

Photoshop Touch. Bring the possibilities of Photoshop to your phone with Adobe Photoshop Touch. Use popular Photoshop features, such as layers and filters, to transform your images. Price: $4.99.

Notable. Notable allows you to create quick reminders on the go. It runs in an overlay so you don’t need to quit what you are doing beforehand. Notable is ad free, and lightweight on your phone. Price: Free.

Skyfire Web Browser 5.0. This app is an update of the Skyfire browser for Android. Now added to the browser are nearly 20 extensions, including LinkedIn and Amazon. Users can add, remove, or create their own extensions. Price: Free.

Phone Book Backup. Save all your contacts in the Phone Book Backup cloud. Retrieve contacts when you require with complete password protection for privacy and security. Price: Free.

Apple iOS

Thinglist. Thinglist is your private simple list of things to remember. Easily tap a category, such as idea or product, and add to your list. Price: $0.99.

Tempo Smart Calendar. Tempo is the only mobile calendar that intelligently enhances your meetings and events by connecting emails, contacts, and location to your calendar. Tempo is in a first-come, first-serve reservation process. Price: Free.

Write for Dropbox. This is a plain text editor to quickly jot down things on your mind. Features automatic Dropbox syncing, full background support, a markdown toolbar, roughly 25 actions to share notes, and more. Price: $0.99.

Cloudier. Cloudier is an iOS client for CloudApp. Cloudier is a file manager, balanced between convenience and charm. Manage all of your files more efficiently. Price: 2,69 €.

Mailbox. Mailbox makes email light, fast, and mobile-friendly. Quickly swipe messages to your archive, trash, or snooze for later. Scan an entire conversation at once with chat-like organization. Mailbox is in a first-come, first-serve reservation process. Price: Free.

Horizon Calendar. Horizon Calendar integrates a weather app with a calendar app. Support for all calendars supported by the native calendar app. Get weather for all your events up to 14 days out. Price: $0.99.

Windows Phone

WebApps. Use WebApps to discover and pin mobile websites on your Windows Phone. Add frequently used web apps to your collection, or pin them to your start screen for one-tap access. Price: Free.

Battery. Battery is a nice and simple battery management app. It displays the current status of your battery, and allows you to enable and disable phone services. Price: Free.

QuickSetting. This is quick setting app. Quickly set wi-fi, wireless network, Bluetooth or airplane mode. Price: Free.

Mind Mapping. Mind Mapping is a simple and straightforward tool for creating and editing flowcharts. Price: Free.

Message Blaster. Message Blaster sends SMS to multiple contacts at a time. Simply select or unselect contacts from the list and send SMS. Price: Free.

myPrivate Safe. This app is designed to keep a secure list of sites, usernames, and related passwords. You can also export all account entries as a backup. Price: Free.

Email by Voice. Email by Voice uses Microsoft’s latest speech recognition technology in Windows Phone 8 to create emails entirely through voice. Simply tap the microphone and dictate the title and body of your email. Price: Free.
