The commenters are correct in that we originally published this piece in early 2006. However, osCommerce continues (in April 2007) to be a major force in the ecommerce world, with original and customized versions of it comprising perhaps the largest worldwide shopping-cart platform. "Milestone 3, which introduces the new framework for the final release, will be released in mid-December 2005." -- according to the osCommerce site, the current release version is "osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 051113". Apparently the M3 release is a bit late. Why was this interview featured in the newsletter so long after it was made?

OsCommerce hasn't been updated in years. I don't know why this article is being posted. It's misleading and certainly not of any value now.
