			<summary>The commenters are correct in that we originally published this piece in early 2006.  

However, osCommerce continues (in April 2007) to be a major force in the ecommerce world, with original and customized versions of it comprising perhaps the largest worldwide shopping-cart platform.   We therefore opted to include it in EcommerceNotes in April 2007, but we should have made it more clear as to the original publish date.
