Can you hear the angels singing already?
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007It’s nearly my favorite few weeks of the year, the few before school starts : ) where my lovely two midgets get in all of the lazy play time they can before they have to get back in the groove. It’s time to start paying attentions to bedtimes and schedules. You may not be able to hear it, but angels are starting to sing…
I’ve been having a really hard time this summer juggling our business and the kids schedules with play dates and lessons, and vacations. Lately however, they’ve been perfectly content playing in the neighborhood where I can see them, and that allows me to sit near a window and keep an eye on them and work.
I do love working from home on my own schedule, but lately I’ve felt the urge to go back to work. I won’t, because I need the flexibility, and can’t leave a business I love. I just miss being in a job that someone else has to worry about paying me, and bringing in work, or finding product, etc. Sometimes I get tired of trying to think like a 50 year old red hat lady. Even though I love their spirit!
We have a problem that many of our suppliers are discontinuing their red hat lines. Possibly because the major retailers don’t want to carry it anymore. This doesn’t mean it’s fizzling out, on the contrary, it’s bigger than ever. It’s apparently just not lucrative enough I guess for the big players to demand product. That’s good for us, depending on how you look. I think the market was saturated for a while. That seems to be changing. Our business is doing really well. It’s just more challenging to find the right product!!
Ok, time to go see if my 5 year old is ready to drop the training wheels on his bike. This should be fun!!
