Ok, so I'm embarrassed to say, I don't really use it..gasp..I know. It's criminal, but I haven't found the time. We've been posting new products, and I've been so focused on cleaning up the code for the search engines, etc, that this has really taken a back burner. My server offers the basics, and tells me the overall usage of the site, the hits, the visits, my most visited pages, etc. But I need the really detailed stuff, and then I need to know how to interpret it. And I think that's the most difficult part, right. What do you do with all of the information. I've read the articles in Practical eCommerce Magazine about it, and need to go revisit them, (because I save every single one of them.) My only real exposure to analytics is with Google and the pay per click program, which I don't do anymore. And I sit and stare at the numbers trying to figure how to react to them. I know that sounds ignorant, but I suspect I'm not alone.

What is the simplest way to use analytics, and do you run the software on your server? I'm open to suggestions.
