Create a New Account feature is not working
good morning! first cup of coffee and I'm waking up. We had a biggie on our site this week, and it was a bear to get fixed. Essentially Miva wasn't letting any of my ladies create a new account. And apparently, my ladies love to create accounts to return to shop again. I find this funny, since it's something I hate to do..create accounts. I know it's handy, but unless you always use the same pass info, it can get so complicated sometimes you have to use a 5 digit pass, sometimes it has a number, and what if it's taken? Good god, then you do that thing where you add a 1, or 01. IN any case, I clearly don't enjoy it.
But my customers do, and it affected my sales! It took my server and MIVA 8 days to get this together and fix it. I posted a note, which looks so unprofessional. So my women had the option of just signing in if they already had an account, or placing the order without setting up an account. Many clearly didn't like this option. Some called to place their order, but many times I had dropped order numbers, which means dropped shopping carts for me. And poor Lee Ann, because when a women calls to place an order at our site, it's not a quick call. Lee Ann ends up chatting for 20-30 minutes with them, sometimes. This was a hard one, but sounds like not such a big deal, right?
A lot of yelling and foot stomping to my server I get it resolved. They said it took so long because it had never happened before.....not buying it. I really don't know how long it had been going on before someone called me to tell me. That's a big problem with online stores. I have to be shopping the site to troubleshoot, and that's always about the last thing on my mind!
