You read my mind..
It continually fascinates me that your articles are so timely to my issues at hand. I was so pleased to see in my email last week the article about finding merchandise for an online store. Do you know that for our little business, quickly becoming a large little business, our growth completely depends on how fresh my new product is? We market to a lot of women each week. If I can give them exactly what they are asking for in my blog, they eat it up! It's so simple that if you just give them what they ask for they buy it...right?Well, the largest problem we face daily is getting/finding the right product. If we have it, all of the other stuff it takes to move this business forward is a blip on the radar. We've been going to trade shows, lots of wholesale shows to get our merchandise, anything we can find. And now we are about to start traveling for them, so I can actually plan ahead on when to roll out our merchandise. Now we post what we have, when we have it. Our goal is to have a schedule like larger businesses do. It sounds so organized.
I just loved the resources that you posted in your article. (Which if I could find it right now, I'd reference it.. ) The other option is to get the catalogs for the wholesale shows sent to you, and you methodically go through and contact each one that interests you for more information. It's clearly easier to go to a show and touch and feel things, but if traveling isn't in your budget, calling probably is!
On another note, I just ordered a new Apple Laptop to replace my 6.5 year old G4. This computer I'm on is so old I can hear it moaning for retirement. It's so slow, and no longer can handle the newer software. I'm going to try the laptop, instead of a desktop, because I need the portability. I got the 17" which my husband insists is obnoxiously too large. Is he kidding? Is there any such thing as too large?
That's it for now..Schools out for the summer. This is the first full day, and my kids look bored already.
