Dedicated Server nightmares

OK, so when you get a dedicated server, no one wants to help you at all at my host..Aplus.net. I don't know anything about DNS servers and MX this or that. I'm so frustrated that the sales person tells me I can do this, and just cuts me loose. I've lost so much business this week. I just wanted to pay extra for some tech support, but they wouldn't even do that. Someone finally took pity on me, and I'm back up and running, but it's slow starting.

It's been a really stressful week with far fewer orders than normal coming in. However, I was surprised when you cut out your direct marketing how you get a feel for how many are really coming off of the engines vs. your direct marketing. I have a survey at checkout asking people where they found us, but I think my customers get a little confused and they just sort of blow through it and not answer.

Oh well, I need to get back to setting up my mailing lists. I'm suspecting that I'm not doing something correctly because we still are going slow. It'll be a long night. I was intending on using MaxBulk Mailer, however I couldn't just paste my html page into the window, and in the interest of time I just did it like I did before. This doesn't mean I won't use it, but for now, I'm using Mailman which is on my server.
