ok, so I finally got myself together to initiate Google Analytics. I had a problem right away. I pasted their code as a global footer in Miva, and my customers started getting an error message saying they were entering a page that had both secure and unsecure information. So I took it out of the "global" section, and put the code just on the product pages, which I should have done in the beginning, and that put an end to that. I dragged my feet on it because I didn't think I'd know what to do with the information, to be honest. But I'm not intimidated anymore. I just really need to know where people are going in our site. I have to read more on it. That's my homework for tonight. I basically just launched it and pasted the code into the pages, and hopefully that's all I need.

I also did a little house cleaning and updated my sitemap and resubmitted it to Google. That's one of those things I forget to do, and needs to be done on a more regular basis.

I don't make a practice of resubmitting my pages to Google, or my site. If you are listed in the organic section of Google, is there an advantage to resubmitting your site, or do you actually get penalized for resubmitting a site that you know is indexed? I think it's the latter. I think I read that somewhere in my travels.

ok, I have a hat to make! so many hats, so little time...
