Hi there, i wanted to share with you all a change I made and am really seeing a change in my sales. I initially put the categories of my gift shop along the top, and if you see my previous blogs about my page width, etc, you'll see I set out to redesign width, image size, etc.

I changed my gift shop and made all product images smaller, and then ran all departments down the left side. I have seen an increase in sales out of that department! Almost immediately, actually. I really feel that it is due to my changes. In making my changes, I was able to consolidate more products onto one page, so my customers don't have to flip through pages. I'm guessing that they are seeing more of my product now.

I'm not finished with the redesign. I've dealt with the busiest sections of the site, and am now need to turn my sights on the areas that aren't doing so well. I guess I'm hoping that a redesign in those sections will increase traffic.

I hope that the changes I made are actually what has increased our biz. Sometimes I find that if I just go into the site, and move stuff around, business increases. I wonder if my customers just always go to the same pages, without a lot of browsing. There's no doubt that a new look creates excitement. I change my homepage weekly, and I think people enjoy that. It indicates that you are adding things to the site...(even if you actually aren't.) According to Google Analytics a full 48 percent of my customers are returning customers. I have to keep it fresh!

That's it for now. Appreciate any feedback from readers. I love to hear what you think. Michelle
