Adding a little spice to SaleMail

I get bored VERY easily with the look of our site, and in an effort to keep things interesting, I am redesigning SaleMail, our weekly email campaign. Right now our salemail campaign just promotes one product and basically nothing else. I think that people need a reason to read it, so I'm going to spice it up by adding some editorial content, a fun quote of the week, and maybe try to initiate conversation in the blog on topics relevant to women over 50. I am also going to incorporate some design changes that might make it more inviting, ie. more white space with a cleaner design. I'm basically going to make it more of a newsletter than a one product sales piece.

I'm taking on a weekly project much larger than my current one. This involves staying really in tune with my ladies, and I'm hoping to get some more chatter going in my blog. My overall goal is to create a newsletter that women look forward to, want to read, and maybe someday contribute to. I'm nervous about it because it's a lot of work, and sometimes it's difficult to get feedback. I'm also mindful of the fact that we are an ecommerce business and we need to stay on course. I don't want to get into something that ultimately doesn't generate sales!

We'll be starting this new campaign on Monday. Wish us luck!
