oops!
I didn't mean to be MIA for so long. I wrote my last post, and thought I published it, but I just saved it! So that was, for lack of a better term... My Bad...and I can't stand when people say that, it's actually a pet peeve of mine, but it works.
ANYWAY.... How?...someone tell me HOW, to get people to actually post to a blog, and not just read it. I'm not talking about this blog specifically. I'm referring to our red hats by you blog. (However, I would love to hear more feedback here, too!)
Last time I blogged about the salemail redesign. I am highlighting an article of interest to my readers, and they seem to be reading it, and reading what others say in the blog about the article. Not many have actually posted. I WANT THEM TO POST!
My salemail redesign has accomplished a few goals. It's much smaller in file size, at least half of what it was before. And it has more text vs. photos. I am guessing that more of my readers are actually getting it, and reading it. We had a fun salemail this week, and profiled all of our garden items. Those are always well-received. So the week in general has been pretty pleasant. It's always nice when an educated guess actually works out!
I really have been feeling that it's been more guessing in our business than mindful decision making. Having a web business can be so challenging because you don't benefit from face to face feedback. You don't get to hear their initial reactions to what they are seeing. And despite the power of google analytics, you don't HEAR their thoughts. We do a lot of chatting on the phone, but that doesn't really give you a big picture on what your market wants or is tuned in to. I guess my point is...analytics tells you where they've been, and how they work through the site, but not what they are thinking. And right now, I need to know what they are thinking...I'm pretty frustrated by that.
ok, that's it for now!
