Three Steps Forward Two Steps Back!

I haven't had the time to redo my masthead as reported as a must do in a previous blog. Everyone in my house is sick right now, and I'm feeling like every time I do ANYTHING!! it's really for nothing because it's immediately undone.

This statement is true for the business, it's true for my home, and it seems true for my brain as well. I know that I came to a conclusion on what to promote this week...hmmm.. but what was that again? And the reason I don't know, is because my son interrupted me at that particular moment of clarity with a request to help him "transform" his latest Megatron of Doom. I do remember that, specifically that I couldn't do it. I am having a nutty month, where I don't feel like I'm on track. It's infuriating because I'm better than this. I really am. I am the person who holds it together when things are stressful. I can be the one to get it done. I've seemed to have lost this skill as of late. I'm am spread too thin right now, and it's only going to get worse because the kids have only one week left of school..one week left, big deep breath on my part. Because at 5 and 7, we are in a fight all of the time phase, where they need to just annoy each other for the sake of doing so. I've signed them up for every summer program and sport I can afford. Keep 'em busy I say. That way when they are home, they are content to just hang in the yard enjoying their summer. But they are too tired to do things like, say, crawl on the roof of the playhouse to see if they can jump off. That was last weeks saga.. getting my son down in one piece.

Anyway, sorry, back to the site. I'm trying to figure out how to jazz up my subject lines of my direct mail. I always keep it short, and it's so difficult to get your point across in a few "fresh" words. Last week we had a sale if you spend $50 or more. My subject line read Summertime S-A-V-E, and I had a nice week in sales. This week, I've extended the savings, and announced an "end" date to the sale. The reason I extended was because initially I didn't announce and "end" date, and don't want to just cut people off. In any case, I've introduced a new product and it's already on sale if they buy a few of them. Not the best strategy, but we all make mistakes! This week I am just putting Fun NEW Purse Hangers, ....boring! But I'm at a loss. I worry now that it's out that I'm not supposed to use the word "new". Anyone know?

I'm going to finish my coffee and chill. I'm also going to dust off my palm pilot and take it out for a ride. Maybe organization is my salvation! Any tips are greatly appreciated...
