Browsers?

hello! I was just looking through Google Analytics, and realized some interesting data... When people come in using Safari, they spend twice as much time as they do coming in using Explorer or Firefox. Hmm! This is a tough one for me to trouble shoot because I'm on a Mac, and when I proof the site in all three browsers they look the same. I don't have a pc in my house, all macs, so I guess I need to be out stealing time on others' computers.

The other thing I don't understand.. It says in my data that I have 10,000+ visits last month. But when I look under Browser Data, it only accounts for a quarter of those 10,000 visits. I don't understand? I only get 7 browsers listed. Does Analytics only track this data if the customer comes in a certain way? I also have data for the same month that says over 4000 people came in off of our email campaign.

I set up a campaign in Google last week. I wanted to see how many people were visiting the shopping cart page when they came in, and watch how that number changes over time. I can see where it's a very cool tool. It's a way to try to predict patterns. But I have to wonder if there's a way to see overall patterns more easily. Can Analytics point out to you that there's a trend that stands out? ie. customers visit the home page, then the sale page, then the hat page? Or do you have to play the guessing game and enter a pattern and test to see if it's true? I love Google Analytics, but even after many months of pouring through it... I'm still overwhelmed by it! On another note, it's officially summer in the Lambert house, and the kids are home and I am wearing my soccer mom hat most of the time. This is the part of this job that I love. .. that I can do it early in the a.m., and I can do it late. I can do it in 30 minute increments, or whenever. I'm grateful for that!
