If you’re an eBay member and you don’t have a “Me” page, then I urge you today to get one created!

If your not an eBay member and have a business, then I also urge you to join eBay and create a “Me” page.

“Me” pages have many uses within the eBay system including Marketing! It can be used to describe shipping terms, tell a bit about you, share some photos, and add a few links.

The only strict rule eBay has about including outside links is called: The Two Click Rule.

This means if you place a link to a website it must contain 2 clicks before a page shows something for sale outside of eBay. The 1st click can not lead to a website containing something for sale. The 2nd click can. The 2 click rule is strictly enforced. If you do visit someone’s “Me” page and notice this rule is not being followed, I suggest you report it to help cut back on website misuse.

Quote from eBay: “The About Me page may not promote outside-of-eBay sales or prohibited items, nor may it contain links to commercial Web sites where goods from multiple sellers are aggregated by a common search engine.”

I use my “Me” page for several reasons. I share a video from a TV interview I did a few years ago. I keep my page very simple and I include links to my website, eBay groups including a few of my auctions.

You can view my “Me” page by clicking here!

“Me” pages can be great marketing tools. Anyone that has a website and is a member of eBay, I suggest setting up a “Me” page and link it to your business. Share your information with the eBay community. Add some key words relating to you and your business. This is just another e-commerce avenue that can be overlooked. As a website owner, I know how important it is to direct traffic to my website. eBay is a brilliant tool that can be easily overlooked.

Not a member of eBay yet? Sign up is easy! Click here to join now!

Once you’re “Me” page is set-up, eBay will automatically provide you with a “Me” icon that will show up by your user ID. This icon will link direct to your “Me” page.

eBay sellers can include a link to a “Me” page in the eBay listing, but you may not include any language within those links that promotes items or other Web sites. You can encourage the viewer to visit your “Me” page to learn more about you and what you have to offer.

Creating a “Me” page is as easy as pie! eBay has made it easy for us in several ways.

You can enter your own html code or you can use a page layout already designed by eBay as a template.

Here are a few “Me” page examples:

Magies Place.

Bargain In A Box

Steve’s Coins and Supplies.

Before you create your page, I suggest you surf around eBay and take a look at a few other “Me” pages to get an idea. Then, jump right in! Don’t hold back or think you can’t do it, because it is very easy!

If you are a registered eBay user and would like to set-up your own “Me” page, you can click here to get started today.
