Hello my eBay Friends!

January is my biggest selling month of the year! I know everyone has different “best” selling months each year, but from my personal experience, the trend has been January in all of my 10 years of selling on eBay.

My theory/ Reason for my high sales in January:

And this year should be even more profitable as eBay released Gift cards throughout the country. Which means many people will have been given eBay gift cards for Christmas. Those holders of the eBay Gift Cards will be browsing the eBay searches for special items.

When things slow down, in-between your Holiday celebrating, you may want to list items to start in January. Have your store “Tidy” and ready for the shoppers.

This is also a good time to take advantage of eBay’s “Markdown manager.”

Markdown Manager is a handy tool provided for free to eBay store owners. Create a Happy New Year Sale! Add Happy New Year graphics to your pages. Get creative with your selling style!

Start the New Year off with high traffic and lots of sales! Develop a marketing plan including advertising opportunities.

Start setting selling goals for 2008. Plan a selling strategy according to the upcoming holidays. Including:

Planning ahead for the year by setting goals will keep you focused. New ideas will help set the mode for a positive outlook for the up and coming New Year! Prepare with Holiday templates, promotional items and the timing of store sales.

2008 is the Year for success!

2008 is YOUR year for Success!

Be realistic with your goal setting. Mark your calendar month by month with each goal at the top of the page. My habit this year has been to write the amount of money I plan to make for the month at the top of my wall calendar page. I visualize that amount. I see that goal reminding me and looking at me with anticipation of wanting to be reached. I start the month off knowing my goal and developing a plan to reach it. This helps me to determine how many listings I need to list and what kind of style I should use for my selling. This type of Goal setting will be a great focus for the eBay seller wanting to become the eBay PowerSeller! And for the eBay PowerSeller wanting to reach that next level of PowerSeller status. NOTE: This strategy will work for all types of careers besides the eBay seller.

My Golden rule:

If Plan A does not work, DON’T WORRY because Plan B is just around the corner!

Plan B is waiting to be discovered. And if your plan A is working that don’t change it. But do enhance and improve on it!

Wishing everyone a successful selling season and a most highly profitable 2008!
