SSL Back on Track
Well, kinda. It's not the SSL that's back on track, it's me. After boycotting any work on the shopping cart and waiting for the holiday dust to settle, I'm hearing that it's working fine. So, the bottom line is, my own lack of SSL confidence derailed my progress for a few weeks here. Sorry you had to suffer through that.
Here's what happened, if I'm understanding any of this correctly. I have an SSL and it was installed when I purchased it. But, unless I type in https, the "s" being the key player here, it doesn't show up. So, in my SSL unsavvy mind, it's like I have two sites, one secure and one not...??? I have to specify which version I want. Thank you Doug at PDG Software for pointing me in the right direction. As for me, it's back to the Dummies book. I probably should have gone there first anyway. I feel I missed a few details and need a better understanding.
More good news! That won't stop me from FINALLY integrating my PDG Commerce software and QBPOS though. That's the really exciting news here. This evening, after the brick and mortar store closes, I can connect remotely into the store computer and start working on the integration. I'm on vacation from my regular J-O-B until the 3rd so I hope to find a little time to work on the shopping cart and blog. Obviously, the shopping cart gets highest priority.
So maybe our New Year's Eve celebration will have a little more significance this year? Let's hope. This may be the year I actually stay up until midnight! :-)
Have a Happy New Year!
Till next time, Sandy
