Ready for Launch
Hello all. BIG NEWS! I'm ready to link to our shopping cart and begin doing business online... for real this time. This week has been productive. I configured the shipping and did some formatting.... it's the little things in life. We're using UPS and USPS. I've only got a few options out there for now. Configuring the shipping in our shopping cart software was pretty easy. Of course, I had to set up an account with UPS a few weeks ago and register with the USPS as well. Once registered with the USPS, I had to email or call a request for them to make it active...??? Didn't make sense but I was a good girl and followed the rules and it's set up.
I also reintroduced our new blog. It doesn't match our web site at all in looks but I've received good feedback from a few folks. We'll see. I used the WordPress blog that's included in my hosting package at and. Since this one is for Carol, I chose an existing theme that reminded me of her. It was easy and she likes it... end of story. Check it out when you have a spare minute.
Tonight is a big night. The "SHOP" button will be reinstalled and linked to the shopping cart. Yes, you heard right.. the shopping cart will be alive and kicking soon. I'm just sure there will be singing and bright lights and lots of hoopla... isn't that how it works? In reality, it will take me about 5 minutes to accomplish this task, then I'll email Carol to let her know. Wahoo!!!
So, do I have all 7800 items out there? Yes and no. They are out there but they are in an inactive category until I add pics and descriptions and make them active. I will only have a few product lines out there this weekend. I'll be at the shop this weekend teaching so it'll have to wait till next week. Although, I do have the ability to do this during lunch break at my regular J-O-B if I have the mental energy.
Stay tuned and listen for the drumroll. I'm just sure you'll hear it. Sometime this evening it will be out there. I'll head to Springfield tomorrow where Carol and I will make a real live order so we can walk through the shipping procedures. This will be our entertainment for the weekend...:-) Wish us luck!
