Fully Functioning Shopping Cart

Hello all. I left off last week with another puzzler. We placed a test order and it didn't go as planned. There were a few minor things... no confirmation email, the credit card transaction was a little hard to follow and when I told it I had paid by check, it registered the payment in QBPOS as "paid by credit card".

These may not seem like big issues to a seasoned shopping cart expert but to me, it meant another week or so of head scratching, reading the manual, checking the message board.... you get the picture. Instead, I went ahead and purchased the one year support contract from PDG. I needed to do that anyway so it's done.

I contacted support on Sunday via a support ticket. Monday before noon I received a phone call. They were on it. I'm guessing it took them about ten or twenty minutes to correct whatever settings I may have misdirected. By Monday night, I received an email that my settings were correct and tested. They also ugraded my software version. How nice.

Now what? I'm adding pictures as I get the opportunity. I have given myself a semi-random number... not too random.... of products to get out there each week. Really, they are already there but I want pics and descriptions on them before I let them fly. Also, Carol is a BIT nervous about how we're going to stock the store and handle the shipments if we get a bunch of web orders right out of the chute. I say that would be a great problem to have. Since we haven't done much marketing of our web site, I don't think that's going to be the case.

So you've been there and seen the empty categories? I can shut them off but I can't seem to make them stay gone. I haven't made it my lifes mission yet. I just decided to live with it for now and concentrate on getting those products out there to fill them up.

Till next time,

Sandy
