Keywords and Website
Hello all, Ok. How long has everyone been sitting in the corner laughing histerically outloud at my "web site"? When did it become all one word and why didn't I notice?
I get busy and so focused on one thing that the rest fades away into the background. Sometime in the past few weeks, I began to notice use of the single word website where I have been using two words.... web site. I see it as a site on the web so that's the way I refer to it. I guess this is pretty insignificant to the big picture but it really makes me feel like a dork...:-) You can still laugh if you like.... laughing is good for the soul and I'm happy to provide the entertainment.
Back to the keywords, I did a little more reading yesterday. I'm trying to get my brain wrapped around the site promotion thing. I still have plenty of products to get out there but I'm trying to think ahead.... sometimes easier said than done. I have a week off from my regular J-O-B. My goal this week is to rest, relax and spend some quality time with my WEBSITE (there, all one word, are you happy now?).
This weekend I received a book called Online Success for Non-Techies. I ordered it from my hosting company, and, as part of my package. I figure it's a place to start. Yesterday, while visiting the in-laws, we all sat on the screened in porch with our respective morning beverages and reading our respective morning brain food. For my in-laws, it was the Sunday paper. For me, it was all about keywords and organizing myself to get this site running like it should be.
I made it through almost half the book and I found it to be full of good common sense advice about how to get started. Most of this I have done so I noted a few things I should go back and do. He talks a lot about keywords and how to know what the right keywords are. I have to admit, I thought I had a good idea what these were all about. After reading this portion of the book, I now have a game plan about how to be sure my keywords are accurate to my site. The book outlines a very methodical way of determining keywords... I like methodical.
Guess I better get started on my week "off work" here... or is it "offwork"? Question everything.
Till nexttime,
Sandy
