Are We There Yet?
Hello all. I hate to wish my life away but thank goodness this week has passed. Busy, of course, but extra stressful. There is good news. Boolie the wonder dog will be just fine. We're broke but the dog is fine. There goes the trip to Maui..:-)
Did I get anything done on the web site this week? Yes, but you won't see it just yet. I've been gathering product pics from vendors and uploading them to the server. My hope is to release products on the web as soon as they arrive at the store... we'll see.
All the help I spoke of last week has fizzled as the store gets busier and the UPS drops rather large boxes of merchandise for Carol and crew to deal with. It was nice while it lasted but, given the choice, I would rather have the store be busy.
This weekend, besides spoiling Boolie, I'll be updating photos, calendars and such. This has nothing to do with ecommerce but it's a must for our web site to be worth visiting. I'm ashamed that I've let it get a little stale but I'll take care of that this weekend and promise myself to keep a better eye on it. There are lots of things I would like to do differently but I need time to sit and play with the site. I managed to add a hit counter this week. It was a freebie available from our server host so, what the heck, I added it. I only wish it would count more hits!
In the meantime, I also have SEO in the back of my mind and still trying to figure it all out. I'm finding out that pretty much anyone can build a web site but the trick is to get traffic to it. That's proving to be the hard part. I'll keep after it. The regular J-O-B really hampers this effort but at the same time, it's helping to keep electricity running to this computer...:-)
