Reflecting On 2007
Hello all. After the holiday buzz has worn off, the new year always seems to bring a chance to reflect on the last year and think about the year ahead. So, I sit here listening to my web site saying "what have you done for me lately?". I stop to ponder and realize that last year this time, my ecommerce site was not even up and running. After my first incident with a "rented" cart, I had purchased my PDG software and working to get my product out there for the world to see.
In August, I started trying to figure out the whole internet marketing thing. I haven't made much progress there. It seems to be my biggest stumbling block at the moment.
In October, I redesigned the site. I still have that nagging list of things I can do to make it better. I got caught up in the J-O-B and the holidays and it has been on hold for a while.
Discussing the site with Carol over the holidays, we made a decision to get a little help with marketing the site. A little help is all we can afford. I made contact with a very talented local individual but haven't heard back. I'm thinking this can't be good so I must figure this out on my own or win the lottery. Deep sigh. In addition to looking for a little help, we made a few decisions on our web offerings. This is exciting but you'll just have to wait and see. I know the suspense will have you on the edge of your seat.
I am optimistic for 2008 despite the marketing rut I'm in right now. I know I will figure it out someday but for now, it's just a nagging frustration. I'm hopeful that I will move past this and be discussing order fulfillment soon..... not soon enough. For now, we're thankful to have a great customer base in our brick and mortar store and look forward to meeting and greeting our new web customers in 2008. Till next time,
Sandy
