“Some People Dream of Success While Others Wake Up and Work Hard at It”
I was in an office supply store early this morning stocking up on the usual; you know ink cartridges, printer paper, etc. I walked by a stand and noticed a little blue book that caught my eye. It was a journal, the front cover said “Some People Dream of Success While Others Wake Up and Work Hard at It” – (Author Unknown). I immediately smiled and grabbed the journal. I am not much of a diary keeper, in fact writing this blog is very daunting for me. But something just compelled me to grab this journal.
It is now sitting at my desk and I can’t stop reading the quote. A journal is typically a daily written record of experiences, observations, or even dreams. This journal will record the dreams I have for my business. But what use is a dream if you aren’t willing to work hard to make it a reality. I guess that is why this quote is on the book. To remind us of what it takes to be successful.
I have known many very bright and talented people that are always talking about their next big idea, or planning their next move. I’ll be honest this drives me crazy! It’s great to talk and plan in business but I see these people not moving forward. Meanwhile I’m in the background working like crazy and they can’t understand what is making my business more successful than their plan. What they just don’t understand is that you have to actually do it to achieve it.
I’m thinking of going back and buying a few more copies for the “planners” I know. Maybe it would help motivate them to take action, maybe not. Taking action and taking risks takes guts. But trying to create a successful company in today’s world also takes guts.
So go ahead take action NOW. Of course we all make mistakes in business. Be brave and jump in head first. If you are always waiting for things to be right, nothing will ever happen. And remember “Some People Dream of Success While Others Wake Up and Work Hard at It”.

I can't believe how much I can relate to your posts! My father used to say, "There are three kinds of people in this world; people who watch things happen; people who make things happen; and people who wonder what the heck happened! As silly as it is, this has been my mantra since I was a kid. I've always wanted to be the person who "made" things happen, and as time goes on I've become more and more intolerant of the other scenarios. It can be extremely exhausting listening to "talkers" when you are a "doer".
At times I find it difficult to give myself credit for what I have achieved with my business so far, but you're right, we're here because we've worked to get here and it does take a special person to just do it. I need to find one of those journals!

In life there will always be talkers and doers thats life. Society is set up for us to go work for a company and be a part of the rat race. It's the few like us that break the mold and go out and do it yourself.
And that's a good thing
