So you have decided to add video to your shop. Good decision! But it’s important to note, that as a dynamic media form, video is particularly sensitive to minor changes.

At this point, you’re probably quite fluent in the traditional forms of online marketing, tweaking banner graphics and size, product placement, adding new services, comparing, adjusting, and comparing some more.

With on-site video content there are many similar issues at hand. In today’s market it is pertinent not only to have video on your site, but to be able to measure its effectiveness. .

There are many nuances to video that need to be measured. Things you’ve probably never even thought about. Changing basic elements in the video, such as music choice or voiceover, may have a significant influence on a video’s bottom-line performance. What type of music goes with golf clubs? What about home appliances, or glasses for that matter? Should they be accompanied by classical music or something more upbeat? These kinds of details aren’t always obvious and can greatly affect your results.

Most often the answer is in the intent. Is the video meant to be entertaining or informative, a lead generator or a product closer?

In other words, what are your goals? Who is your audience? And what works best for the specific combination of factors at hand?

Those are A LOT of questions. And those questions make A LOT of difference in your ROI.
