Which Shopping Search Engines Should I Be In?
Take a look around and you will find several different shopping search engines wanting your products.
PriceGrabber, Shopping.com, Yahoo Shopping, BizRate, Dealtime, PricingCentral, MySimon, PriceWatch, and Google Product Search are just a few of the ones that come to mind.
So how do you choose where to spend your advertising dollars?
First, Google Product Search is free and we always love the word free when it comes to traffic. Submit your feed, get unlimited clicks, and never pay a cent.
Second, start doing some research on your products and take notes.
Very quickly you will begin to see a trend.
You will start noticing 1-2 comparison shopping search engines showing up on the first or second page of the search results for your products.
Perhaps they are coming up naturally or they are using the millions of dollars they have to purchase sponsored listings.
If you keep seeing the same comparison shopping search engines for your products, guess what?
So are your customers!
And if your customers are clicking through to those shopping search engines, you want to make sure that you are there too.
Third, as you begin to advertise with the different shopping search engines watch your conversion rates and cost per click. Make sure you are getting a good return on your investment.
Fourth, rinse and repeat until you find what works for your store and your products.
