Thankful for our Crazy Year
It’s been a crazy year for me this year. Beside the business growing like crazy, a full website redesign and adding over 2000 new Party Favors and Gifts, it’s been crazy for me personally too.
I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when my husband lost his job in June. We knew it was coming, with the economy it was just a matter of time. The twist I didn’t see coming was my husband working with me. I gave him a few projects which he gladly took on and I have to say, I didn’t realize how much I needed the help. And I’ve already seen a return on what he’s done for our business. I was worried about us working together; we don’t look at things the same way. But it was nice having him home, having a lunch together, just the two of us. It was also nice having him really see what I do every day.
My husband has some good leads on jobs and part of me wants him to stay home with me. I know in the Spring I could really use his help. But I know his dream is not to work for his wife in the Wedding and Party Favor business and I have to accept that. He has always supported my dream, now I have to support his.
With the end of the year just a month away I look back on this crazy year and I am very thankful. I’m very thankful for my business, and for the success it has seen over the last couple of years. Without it I’m not sure where we would be. My business has given me the opportunity to volunteer at the school, spend time with my children, and stay home with them when they are sick. I’m thankful that my husband doesn’t mind me being the bread-winner for a little while and that he can put pride aside and work for his wife until the right opportunity comes his way.

I just discovered this site and am very excited because I'm in the planning stages of my own ecommerce site. As a wife and mom of 3 (4, 6, and 8) I really appreciate your blogs--thank you for sharing. I love the 7 year old VPs!!

I think your blogs are great. My mother and friends run their own businesses and i have suggested this to them as i feel it would be very insightful for them.
For increasing your business and customer personalization you may want to consider adding a Shop Tab to your Facebook fan-page so you can sell products directly from your Facebook page. Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/shoptabapp
We saw a huge opportunity for eCommerce business owners who wanted to leverage and monetize their Facebook presence. Facebook ShopTab App allows these business owners the ability to create a shop tab directly on their Facebook fan page.
We feel with the use of personalization through social media sites like Facebook companies can continue to build valuable relations through various media vehicles and keep their customers involved and happy.
Thanks,
–Kevin
