Thankful for our Crazy Year

It’s been a crazy year for me this year. Beside the business growing like crazy, a full website redesign and adding over 2000 new Party Favors and Gifts, it’s been crazy for me personally too.

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when my husband lost his job in June. We knew it was coming, with the economy it was just a matter of time. The twist I didn’t see coming was my husband working with me. I gave him a few projects which he gladly took on and I have to say, I didn’t realize how much I needed the help. And I’ve already seen a return on what he’s done for our business. I was worried about us working together; we don’t look at things the same way. But it was nice having him home, having a lunch together, just the two of us. It was also nice having him really see what I do every day.

My husband has some good leads on jobs and part of me wants him to stay home with me. I know in the Spring I could really use his help. But I know his dream is not to work for his wife in the Wedding and Party Favor business and I have to accept that. He has always supported my dream, now I have to support his.

With the end of the year just a month away I look back on this crazy year and I am very thankful. I’m very thankful for my business, and for the success it has seen over the last couple of years. Without it I’m not sure where we would be. My business has given me the opportunity to volunteer at the school, spend time with my children, and stay home with them when they are sick. I’m thankful that my husband doesn’t mind me being the bread-winner for a little while and that he can put pride aside and work for his wife until the right opportunity comes his way.
