Can you Digg it?
I just can't get the image out of my head of the scene from The Warriors (the movie, not the video game if you are too young to remember) where Cyrus has all the crews in New York together and punctuates his message with a resounding "Can you dig it? Can you dig iiit!!??". Yep, not a good movie, and the video game wasn't much better. However, I really want to revisit what I blogged about a couple of days ago with the links to the social networking news sites like Digg.com, Furl.net, Reddit.com, Slashdot.org, and Del.icio.us on our article pages.
I highly encourage our readers again to create an account with these websites. You can get to them by clicking on one of the icons at the end of any of our articles, and now our podcast episodes. Once you have an account, you can recommend our articles and podcasts to others and compile a list of content across the web that you want to bookmark. Believe it or not it actually becomes pretty useful once you get in the habit of using them. I have to admin that I was never a fan until we started offering the links, and since I have accidentally found myself bookmarking content on the Internet that I knew I wanted to revisit later.
I am blogging about the links again because I have seen an impressive response in just the first 24 hours after the functionality was added to our site, and I believe that it will really be interesting and fun for our users in the future. After all, it never hurts to find more content relevant to what you are viewing, right? On the flip-side, it never hurts us to have more potential traffic driven our way (assuming a lot of people participate), which the way I see it is great for everyone.
The more traffic we get the sooner you'll see the "Boys of Practical Ecommerce" Calendar, which (I'm told) will feature saucy New Zealander Stephan Spencer on the cover. Do your part to help out, eh?
