Kabbage Gave Annirocs House of Treasures a New Start

Kabbage started to sprout within the online fields of business in 2009. Helping many eBay sellers grow their businesses by leaps and bounds. You may of heard of this company when Practical eCommerce did a podcast with the lovely COO (Chief Operating Officer) and Co-founder of Kabbage; Kathryn Petralia. Kabbage cannot be compared to the “average” type of brick-and-mortar lender because the money request to borrow is based on more than credit history. It is also based on current feedback ratings, online sales, track records and PayPal account standings.

Kabbage has grown since they first launched in 2009. I had the opportunity to spend about 30 min with Kathryn recently on my radio show and she spoke about the process and details of the company: TUNE IN to listen.

A fellow eBay friend and colleague contacted me shortly after the interview and shared her Kabbage experience: “I was a single mom for many years. My financial life with 4 children was difficult. Obtaining credit was always hard. I remarried and things were good buy my husband had just come out of a business loss with lots of debt. So getting any credit was still difficult.

Financially it has been one thing after the other. Including my husband recently being out of work for over a year. He’s back at work now I have heard about Kabbage for about a year now. I first applied 6 months ago. I was turned down. I was not surprised. But then I was listening to your show in the last 15 mins. I can’t remember her name but she was really pushing how they look at more than credit. I thought to myself, maybe they have changed their standards a little and also know that my volume has increased a lot in the past 6 months. So I thought, what the heck, try again. I did and sat nervously for about 15 seconds. I was approved, money in the bank all in less than 10 mins!

This feels like the start of something good to me. A chance to show I am more than a credit score. I like that they automatically take the monthly payment out of the PayPal account.
