Hello Everyone!
I'm an ecommerce novice with my first ebusiness. Please take a look at my website (www.bigfurhats.com) and provide your comments.
I am concerned about a few issues:
(1) Keyword density - My important keywords (fur hat, fur hats, russian hat, russian hats) appear alot on the website. I've read that you should maximize the use of keywords in your content, but not too much. How much is too much? I am concerned that I've overdone it a little. What do you think.
(2) I've managed to get to the first page on Yahoo! for my important keywords listed above. However, I'm nowhere to be found on Google and MSN. Does anyone have any ideas why?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

| Using your keywords 3-7 times depending on the length of your page is acceptable. What is more important is content, which you have plenty. Maybe you should look into building your inbound links. Google finds them very important. Post quality articles on your blog and submit them to blog carnivals. If the articles are good, many people will link to it which sends traffic to your site and builds your rankings in Google search. |

Cool Niche market, I like the site and the product. I agree I think your content is excellent, I would spend my time working on inbound link building. Because this is such a niche marketing you should not have a problem getting links on fashion sites.
Stay away from link exchanges, you need to determine what would be a good fit for your product, fashion, travel sites, ski sites, Russian travel sites, Russian history sites. Then put a good email together and ask for a link. That will be your key to success on Google.
As LifeofEgypt says, content is king, get yourself a blog and write something in it every single day, put aside an hour each day to post to your blog about your products, industry etc etc. It's a lot of work but at the end of the day it all pays off. |
