Hi,
First off, nice to "meet" you all, this is my first post.
Ok, I am planning on going live with a revamped and updated version of my online business in April (all service, no tangible items that bring alot more implications with them in accounting - depreciation, etc). We have added great new sources of revenue and with that, cash outflow so I am going to do a new 12mo Cash Flow sheet.
First off, can anyone suggest an easy way to do this? Have any templates, etc? Typical templates have a lot of unnecessary categories that are more brick-and-mortar, not online.
Secondly, I am using Google check out, and I would say 90% of my revenue will come through here (other would be live checks). When doing my cash flow, do you think I am a primarily A/R business or does the fact that the money goes through to a bank account make it simply "sales rev."
My logic is, user pays online through Google, google sends info to card company, who thus makes a deposit into my bank account. Therefore, there is a small window of time where I have A/R rather than an amount in the bank. I could see A/R if I was doing a balance sheet for a time period ended.
If anyone can help we can maybe talk through email and I could be a bit more explanatory and specific rather than in a post.
Thanks so much everyone!
