|
|
This is a great section to have for this Forum. For myself, it was an interview I read in a not-so-well-known publication that introduced me to ecommerce and the possibilities.
What I would like to see, as this section grows, are not only interviews with eCommerce Cart/Hosting companies, but interviews with eCommerce Success Story individuals who started their business(es) with little or next to nothing, and have developed it into a thriving, successful venture. (a "blueprint" of what they did, so to speak - in interview form).
I do hope that this Forum continues to grow in information and membership.
There is a wealth of information to be obtained/shared out there. |

Thanks for posting. That is a fantastic idea, and as time goes on so will our magazine and our interviews. We do have a monthly website profile, which is a bit like what you are talking about. Our profiles are interviews with e-commerce business owners that are operating and succeeding. Perhaps you will find them interesing.
Take care. |

I also agree with the tcraw1010. While I know you have the "Monthly Website Profile" which makes for interesting reading, I don't think it goes far enough into the details as to what they did to accomplish their success. Maybe inside the "Monthly Website Profile" have a section called "in depth, or something like that" focuses on a specific strategy (marketing, order management, etc) the owner used to acheive their success.
In summaryI read the "Monthly Website Profile" each issue and I love it. If it could provide more detail and how they achieved their success, that would be awsome.

I agree ... Sort of like a "road map" describing . . .
- When they first conceived their idea (and/or what inspired them to pursue an eCommerce business)
- What prep work/research did they do
- How did they go about designing their website
- How did they decide on the Shooping Cart / Merchant Account they use
- What were the initial hurdles/obstacles (if any)
- What did they do to market their store/products?
- How has it been going thus far?
- What advice would they give to an eCommerce novice trying to decide which direction to take.
For myself, information formt he list above would be absolute GOLD.

I think these are great ideas. Perhaps I need to rethink the level of detail we include in our profile to include more 'road map/blueprint' information. I can see why that detail would be helpful and inspiring.
Thanks for the input.
Also, if there are particular websites that you find interesting or would like to know more about, please don't hesitate to to me know. We're always looking for unique business models to feature. |

I'm an online t-shirt seller. I would love to see an interview with the guys from lifeisgood.com. , threadless.com.
And definitely smaller start-up sites too.
Just a couple of suggestions! |
