We have finally launched our site last night.
There are a few bits and pieces to tweak, particularly around the cart process but we decided to follow 37 Signal's book 'Getting Real' and get something online.
Any comments, problems, suggestions please let me know.

Congrats on the launch!
We actually just launched our site yesterday too, so I can appreciate the tremendous undertaking it is to get to the point where you feel you can..'hit the button' and release the hounds.
Your site is clean, easy to navigate and has a down to business feel. I'd probably make the header or at least the logo (company name) portion of it a return link to the home page. I imagine most people are used to being able to click there and return home.
When you get settled and have a chance to breathe, you may also want to stylize/design the logo a bit more. You definitely got the information resource feel going on, but I think integrating some stock imagery, perhaps a ticker graphic or something financial into the background might really give your pages that sense of oomph! (Take a peek at the header on CNBC.com Just a thought.
Btw, are all the reports free? or is there a set of upgraded reports to follow that folks can purchase?
Again, best of luck!

Thanks for the comments Brendan.
Yes, the logo is temporary - done by myself so it lacks the quality - I have little abilities at doing graphics, etc. We are going to get a better one done hopefully this month.
Well all reports are free except take-over reports. All free reports are available on plcs websites but not one site currently offers them all.
Ok, it's not so much an ecommerce site but for what we are doing it was more logical and efficient to use ecommerce software. |

This is actually a very interesting concept, Euan ... I've not seen a site like it (yet).
Seems like it would be a fantastic resource type for potential investors.
CONGRATS !!!

Tom,
Thanks for your comments. When we initially looked at the site it was a combination of a CMS and links systems which counted the hits/clicks.
However, after further research we decided that an ecommerce system would work best and so far it has
All reports you can get free from the plcs sites but we hope that by having all in one location we can build on the number of visitors, etc and begin to add more accounts.
For the next few months we're not planning on heavily marketing the site, we want to see it run and ensure any problems can be ironed out, etc.
Any thoughts on improving it I would be pleased to discuss and hear
Thanks,
Euan |
