EFULFILLMENT SERVICE INC, is an order fulfillment service provider located in Traverse City, Michigan that specializes in ecommerce warehousing, shipping and return processing.
We specialize in ecommerce order fulfillment as an easy to use back-end to shopping cart and auction management systems. You can upload your orders from your computer desktop to your own fulfillment control panel within our system as CSV or XML files or you can hand enter individual orders.
As we receive your shipping data, we quickly print a customized packing list and pick, pack and ship each order. Your fulfillment control panel is updated live and we automatically send your customers a ship confirmation email that includes the tracking number.
We also handle your merchandise storage, labeling, sorting, light assembly, product photography and returns processing. Every shipment is guaranteed and we provide free shipping cartons and jiffy mailers as part of the service.
We have been in business since 2001, serve about 400 clients, manage about 54,000 SKUs and ship from 10,000 to 15,000 orders per week. Our fees are affordable, there are no minimums and no tricky terms.
Most of our clients are webstore merchants with order volumes in the range of 100 to 2,000 orders per month, but we also offer automated order processing for 2,000+ order volume merchants as well.
Our typical pricing is a base fee of $29.95 per month plus inventory storage at $.26 per cubic foot per month. The storage cost is based on the L x W x H of individual items multiplied by the total number of items on hand at the end of each month. The storage cost for a 6 x 9 x 1 inch book for example works about to about 8/10 of a cent each or about $8.00 per 1,000 books.
Our pick and pack fees vary by the ship volume and complexity of a project, but a typical low volume project would run about $1.65 per order plus $.55 per item. Free packaging is included and FedEx reimbursement is based on daily pick up and not retail rates.

The fulfillment company you select should provide a 100% FREE TRIAL PERIOD so you can try their services on a small scale before you make a major commitment. In the case of EFULFILLMENT SERVICE, if you are dissatisfied within the first 30 days of working with us we will reimburse ALL of your out of pocket expenses including freight in costs to a maximum of $250.00.
You should not be required to print and apply special labels to the merchandise that you send to the fulfillment warehouse you select. As you build sales volume you will be sending inventory directly from vendors to your fulfillment location and that means any needed extra labeling has to be done by the fulfillment receiving staff. If SKU labels are required, we will cheerfully handle this for you and at minimal extra cost.
Your fulfillment house should accept accountability for your inventory while in its care. In our case, we do a receiving count and transit damage inspection for all of the inventory that you send to us and we take responsibility for the accuracy of the stock counts that we report to you. Beware of anyone who simply enters packing list counts into their database and avoids responsibility for future lost inventory.
If you wish, we will process your customer returns and quickly inform you via email as to the received counts, customer information and condition of the returned merchandise. There are no surprise charges or hidden fees even if your customer fails to provide return documentation.
There should never be any tricky terms such as charging per item fulfillment rates for returned merchandise if you decide to close your account . For us, if you close your account and need your inventory returned to you or forwarded on to someone else, we will charge for just the actual shipping cost and our warehouse labor by the hour and NOT a per order and per item fee.
Likewise, your fulfillment house should never have the right to destroy your inventory because you accidentally send unacceptable merchandise to their warehouse (such a haz-mat, high value or pornographic merchandise). Under no circumstance will we attempt to seize or destroy your inventory without your permission.
Your fulfillment house should provide you with a written service guarantee backed up by proactive customer service on your behalf. In our case, we 100% guarantee our work in writing and will always provide fair compensation to you in the event of a fulfillment error or lost inventory that is our fault.
Your fulfillment house should provide access to all USPS and UPS or FedEx shipping options including first class mail plus international shipping services including completion of the CN22 form and any other required export documentation.
Likewise your UPS or FedEx reimbursement should be based on daily pick up rates and not retail rates. Signature required, COD and extra package insurance services should be provided at published rates as well. We provide all of this plus express delivery discounts and in-bound truck freight discounts.
Optional labeling, assembly, sorting, digital photography, gift wrapping and kitting services should be available at reasonable per hour rates. We provide these services plus a broad range of free stock cartons and padded jiffy mailers and will provide special packaging at extra cost if needed.
There should be no advertising pieces added to your outbound shipments or logos of others imprinted on the stock packaging and of course your fulfillment house should never directly compete with you by selling the same products to the same customers.
Your shipping cost should be based on the actual package weight and not on a projected or estimated weight. In our operations all packages are physically weighed just before the FedEx, UPS or USPS label is printed and applied except for specific high volume batches of orders that all contain the same items and have the same packaging tare weight.
