E-commerce customer authentication
What is SafeID?
SafeID (www.SafeID.org) is a new ID verification service designed to better protect online merchants from fraudulent purchases. The service dramatically improves the way e-commerce sites authenticate users with a simple code that seamlessly integrates the identity verification tool directly into a website's checkout process.
SafeID authentication begins when a user's name and email address are entered into the system during an intended purchase. From there, a series of five or six multiple choice questions are generated based on data from various sources and history of the potential purchaser. Depending on the integration, users will either take the test on the merchant's site or receive it via email. Upon completion, the user's score is made available to the merchant through their control panel, an API or by email which they can use to determine the customer's authenticity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Identity Verification?
Identity Verification confirms that your customers are who they claim to be. Here's how it works: Our test asks them a series of multiple choice questions based on information aggregated from a variety of public and private databases. Genuine customers will easily answer every question correctly, potential frauds will not.
Why should I use SafeID?
Any online business is vulnerable to fraud, including yours. Worse is that merchants typically bear the most financial risk. If a criminal obtains a person's credit card information and makes a fraudulent purchase, the card holder's liability is normally limited to about $50 or less. Merchants, however, are typically obligated to compensate credit-card companies for the entire cost of the goods sold plus any associated charge back fees. Why risk losing valuable time and money when you can easily integrate our ID Verification Test into your site today?
Customer Service and Tech Support
The application's code, available at www.SafeID.org, is easily copied and pasted into the web page similar to a PPC tracking pixel. The code can be integrated either before or after the order confirmation page.
How Much Does SafeID Cost?
SafeID customers will pay from $1 to $10 per authentication quiz, depending on volume.
Safe ID is Different
Criminals using fraudulent credit card accounts are purchasing large quantities of goods from online merchants that they never intend to pay for. SafeID's verification tool intends to stop this type of activity before it starts and better protect both large and small commerce sites. Our proprietary technology is able to confirm your customers' identity using only your customer's first and last name, email address and last four digits of their Social Security Number.
