Webinar Presentation Outline

The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines to presenters of on-demand webinars for Practical Ecommerce.

Overview

Our webinars follow the same consistent format. The presentation runs roughly 20 minutes.

Webinar presentations are pre-recorded. We (Practical Ecommerce) will produce the presentation from our custom template. The presenter’s face will be visible on every slide as she/he is speaking. Please include suggested visuals to accompany your verbal presentation. We’ll then insert the speaker’s video on our template with your visuals.

Organization

Please arrange your presentation into distinct sections. Usually 3 to 5 sections are suitable for a 20-minute presentation. Beyond that, please follow this process for your overall presentation.

  1. First, please acknowledge the person introducing you. You could say, for example, “Thank you, [NAME], for that introduction.”
  1. What to expect. This is a table of contents where you state the names of the sections you’ll cover. You can say something like, “Today I’ll be covering four sections. First, I’ll discuss [insert name of the first section]. Then I’ll address [insert name of the second session].” Continue until you’ve stated the names of each section.
  1. Present all sections of the webinar. This is the bulk of your presentation, where you present, in order, all the sections of your webinar. Please provide a separation and transition from one to the other so the attendee knows where you are in the presentation.
  1. Recap. After your last section, briefly summarize each section, spending just a minute or two overall.
