Podio is awesome. It allows you to build "apps" to structure and hold information for your specific organization. It doesn’t force you to force your organization into it’s structure.

It was recently purchased by Citrix so it has a big company behind it.

Thank you for this great information.

We were a Basecamp user that switched earlier this year to TeamworkPM. http://www.teamworkpm.net
I have no affiliation with them other than being a very happy customer.
If you are not satisfied with your current solution I highly recommend giving them a look.
IMHO they are light years ahead of Basecamp.

Great list. Trello.com is simple and great for tracking.

We are also using Oogwave.com, clean and simple. Helps us to centralize my project files and knowledge at one place. I believe, somewhere in lines of Podio.com, but with no configuration hassles.

Check out Breeze (http://breeze.pm), it’s basically Trello and Basecamp mashup, plus it adds some extra stuff like time tracking, calendars, reporting and more.

    • Charllie July 5, 2014 Reply

I’ll really don’t see that the extra features warrant and extra $29 per month over Trello. Trello is fantastic for me. Current running 14 projects through various boards and it’s really easy to adopt.

In case it may be of any help we started using Teamwork (http://www.twproject.com/) in my company since last August and we are really happy with it. Sig, this was a great read and very helpful! I myself have used Zoho though I found it to be too much for my small business needs, but I do currently incorporate Trello’s boards and Google Apps. As of late, I moved to another program, Pay Panther. They allow me to do seamless project management with my partners and includes useful tools such as time tracking and invoicing/billing. Have you had an experience with them? I’d lie to hear what you thought because I know there’s a few kinks.

    • Brian Smith August 14, 2014 Reply

      Erica,
I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about PayPanther lately, so I thought I’d take a look. A few days in, and I already love the software. Seems light years ahead of what we used to use for project management. Plus, the other features are great too! Check it out at http://www.paypanther.com

We have been using a web collaboration/meeting tool called Drum (http://thisisdrum.com/) which allows us to hold our meetings online within the browser). The fact it is free and didn’t require any downloads means it has worked really well for us as it fits into our budget.

Here’s another recommendation – ClipPod for Google Calendar. Perhaps the simplest of them all, since it converts Google Calendar into a project management tool. We’re using it for a while and it’s worked out quite well for us so far.
