Does Etsy offer video integration? If not, why not?

So Etsy top sellers are selling nothing but Chinese items, http://www.alibaba.com, http://www.chinabuye.com, http://www.banggood.com and there are many more, Etsy is successful because they allow Chinese products to be sold.

Etsy would not earn even close to what they are getting if it was not for these people and yet in there terms and conditions you can sell supplies and wholesale but only if you make it yourself, you cannot just order from these Chinese stores, they say they are doing there best but apparently not if all there stores are selling nothing but Chinese s**t. Etsy is nothing but a lie and a waste of time and money for thoughs who really are selling there own handmade products.

You are spot-on, my friend! It’s a true travesty that these items are even made overseas. I run a brick and mortar shop in Blowing Rock, NC. We sell only handmade in the U.S. items. And even then, I have some vendors send me jewelry with beads, etc. that were made in China. Those items are not sold, but returned to the artist, unless the artist can prove country of origin is America. I’m very pro-America and any “artist” that defends using cheap, mass-produced Chinese findings ought to be ashamed of the scam that are running.

    To the comment above:

As a casual jewelry designer, I’ve bought mass produced Chinese items elsewhere before, but some of these etsy shops seem to have MUCH better quality items than the ones I got before. Many stores listed here do not sell products made in China. Not to mention that NOT ALL products made in China are bad!

Also, etsy policy allows suppliers to sell manufactured supplies (not just handmade). I don’t know where you’re getting your information.

I have noticed that most of the jewelry offered on Etsy is most likely purchased by the seller. I’m not saying ALL jewelry sellers do this but I believe there are many. Also, there are MANY sellers from china selling not so quality items for making items. Many people buy from one of the $ stores , throw some glitter etc on the item then charge $15.00 for it.

I have had a terrible time on Etsy and as far as the tutorials go… lets just say not very helpful. I have dug up every thing that has helped my shop on my own. I have recently realized it costs too much to actively list & sell on Etsy. Ebay, Addoway & other sites are much cheaper. I think Etsy plays favorites with the shops & promotes some shops while doing nothing for other shops. Although I am told by other Etsians that I have a lot of sales for the yr I’ve been on there, 33 i believe. I think it should be way higher and find it discouraging. This is how I see it.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes in the other comments and maybe a dash of ignorance?

Hey thank you so much for this very informative article. Just wanted to add a small thing to this, if I am allowed to :) We recently launched our Etsy app called MySocialPig (http://mysocialpig.com). It basically helps you schedule and automate your Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest posts for your products. I am sure many of the Etsy sellers will find it useful as it can save them so many hours and efforts that goes into Social meida promotions. Looking forward to welcome your readers on our app (psst..free 50 posts for first 500 users)
