Thanks for listing and discussing the 12 free SEO tools from Google. No new webmaster should have excuses of not doing proper SEO for lack of tools yet they are available all over the net. I particularly love the Google Alerts because it gives me the opportunity of aggregating new content from the leaders in the market, which I then clarify and share with my readers.

I am a programmer from San Francisco and have spent my career working for top SEO/ reputation management companies. Through my experience, I have come to discover that SEO companies are unethical with how they present their services. They convince people who aren’t tech savvy that SEO is technologically advanced and should be left in the hands of an expensive professional, but that is not true. Anyone can do SEO easily.

That is why I chose to branch out and create, based off “do-it-yourself” SEO software. Our mission is to give you the power to manipulate search results in your favor, without having to pay the high prices asked by SEO companies. I’m not trying to make money for myself or my company, I am trying to bring honesty back into this industry. Money means nothing to me, which is why I’m giving away the software for free. All I ask is that you make a generous donation to "The Susan G Komen for the Cure" ( or a similar charity in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and for my grandmother who is bravely fighting the disease.

The free SEO software: You have to download "Google Chrome" (, which is a free web browser from Google. It’s faster and more reliable than Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox.

Very informative article and useful information and tools outlined for anyone wishing to cut their teeth on monitoring their website/page performance. Although I use an inexpensive premium software programme which puts all my tools under one roof: ‘Webfire’ for my on and off page Google-Seo work I also use a few of the above mentioned tools.

Please note even though the above tools will aid your work you must be aware they are only aids and you do have to role up your sleeves and get down and dirty with a load of work that need to be consistently done namely:

    1. Page Content
    2. Regular Content Updates

I have gone a stage further and set up a small information page purely to outline the 6 SEO Fundamentals you need to implement to play with the big boys … If your serious about steadily climbing the search engine rankings.

On exit I would like to reiterate that the above fore mentioned free Google-Seo tools will be of great valuable to you and even if you don’t use all you will be in a good place if you use at least one or two along with your bread and butter SEO work. If you’re wondering what the Bread And Butter work is… Quality Content and Updated Relevant information.

Don’t forget at your leisure you may wish to recap on the 6 Fundamentals SEO you need to employ to your Internet presence.

Excellent SEO digest. Totally agree with the DIY point of view, especially for start-ups that don’t have the money to hire SEO companies.
Also, there’s another good tool besides Webmaster Tools that can check your search engine inclusion:
