Here is a list of recent ecommerce-related product releases and updates for late December. There are updates on video chat, shipping, automated data analysis, and payment gateways.

Amazon launches Wickedly Prime. Amazon has launched a private-label brand, Wickedly Prime, available exclusively to Amazon Prime members. Initial Wickedly Prime products include popcorn, blue corn tortilla chips, sweet potato tortilla chips, and soft shell almonds. If customers are not satisfied, Amazon will refund purchase.

Facebook launches group video chat in Messenger. Facebook has launched group video chat on Messenger for Android and iOS devices, as well as the desktop version of Messenger. With 245 million people making video calls in Messenger every month, users now have the ability to turn group chats into face-to-face conversations — no matter where they are. See up to six people at a time. Up to 50 friends can join and choose to just listen in and join via voice, or be on camera.

Velaro Live Chat integrates with Motion.ai chatbot. Velaro, a provider of website live chat software, has launched the capability to integrate with chatbots from Motion.ai, an automated bot provider. The integration requires an initial chatbot setup to allow an engagement to be transferred from a virtual agent to a live chat agent, when applicable.

ShipStation announces integration with Houzz. ShipStation, a cloud-based ecommerce shipping platform, has announced an integration with Houzz, a social and marketplace community for home-decoration needs. Sellers on Houzz display their products to over 40 million website and mobile app visitors each month. With the ShipStation integration, these merchants can now access all of the order fulfillment features that ShipStation provides.

Transcosmos acquires Digital Operative. Transcosmos, an Asia-based consulting firm, has acquired Digital Operative, a marketing agency. With the move, Transcosmos aims to support client companies making inroads into ecommerce business in the U.S. by strengthening its digital marketing services through integrating Transcosmos’ global ecommerce operational know-how with Digital Operative’s service features.

Salmon acquires Eperium. Salmon, a global ecommerce consultancy, has acquired Netherlands-based Eperium, a digital and ecommerce advisory firm. The acquisition gives Salmon access to the fast growing northern European markets, where Eperium has a strong presence, especially in The Netherlands and Belgium. In addition, Salmon will now add Intershop Commerce and Informatica Product Information Management to its relationship and delivery base.

Computop and AsiaPay partner to enable retailers to conduct ecommerce in Asia-Pacific. Computop, a payment service provider, and AsiaPay, an Asia-Pacific service firm, have announced their new strategic partnership. The relationship enables retailers to securely process payments in Asia-Pacific through Computop’s Paygate payment gateway. Contact for pricing.

Oracle Retail Suite 16 introduces new cloud tools for omnichannel productivity. Oracle Retail has announced the availability of Oracle Retail Release 16, empowering retailers to deliver streamlined unified consumer experiences across channels. Oracle Retail Release 16 is designed to accelerate user productivity by leveraging persona-based dashboards at the core of the solution to eliminate mundane data forensics tasks and instead highlight business opportunities based on employee roles and their impact on the business. Brandify bets on artificial intelligence and mobile to launch Brandify Labs. Brandify, a provider of location-based digital marketing solutions, has announced the launch of Brandify Labs, a mobile-first incubation environment. The launch was facilitated by Brandify’s recent acquisition of Cognitive and mobile technology from Smilefish. Brandify Labs focuses on research, innovation, and development of marketing technology, building cognitive solutions, enhancing mobile interactions, and driving sales locally.

Sionic mobile integrates its ION Commerce Engine with IBM Watson Analytics. Sionic Mobile has announced that its ION Commerce Engine now features automated data analysis and data-driven dashboards powered by IBM Watson Analytics. The new analytics component provides actionable data in a user-friendly environment, helping businesses identify customer spending traits, loyalty and transaction trends, as well as market and demographic data.

Bluecore launches integration with Oracle Commerce Cloud. Bluecore, a real-time interaction management platform for ecommerce, has announced full integration with the Oracle Commerce Cloud. Retailers using Oracle Commerce Cloud can now leverage Bluecore’s simple point-and-click interface to capture powerful, real-time behavioral and catalog data to deliver personalized, high performing triggered emails.

Digital agencies join BigCommerce partner program. BigCommerce, a commerce platform for fast-growing and mid-market brands, has announced the expansion of the BigCommerce Partner Program to include Alpine Consulting, Born Group, Brand Labs, and Efelle creative. As Certified BigCommerce Partners, each will support client adoption and implementation of the BigCommerce platform, providing enterprise-grade services, including ecommerce strategy, website design and development, technical integrations, and marketing.
