16 New Productivity Apps in August 2013

The month of August brought remote desktop and storage apps, text editors and word processors, a tool for creating quick charts, a task manager, a calendar, and a language translator.

Here is a list of August’s new mobile productivity apps for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Phone. There are both paid and free apps.

Editorial. Editorial is a plain text editor for the iPad. It features automation tools, an inline preview and an extended keyboard specifically designed for writing Markdown with all the special characters you need. Combine a large selection of simple text processing actions into your very own workflows. Price: $4.99.

Viz. Viz is a quick way to create simple charts that are visualized on your iPhone instantly. Share them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or just save them as JPGs ready to be used on your favorite presentation software. Price: $1.99.

Parallels Access. This is a remote access app to use all of your desktop Mac and Windows applications on your iPad. Apply iPad gestures to your desktop applications. Price: App is free. Desktop subscription is $79.99, but comes with a 14-day free trial.

Quip. Quip is a modern word processor that enables you to create beautiful documents on any device. It combines documents and messages into a single chat-like “thread” of updates. Take notes, organize to-do lists, and collaborate on edits in real-time. Work offline, sync whenever you have an Internet connection. Price: Free.

ClarusTasks. ClarusTasks is a task management app based on David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology. The Next screen displays actions to complete and actions past due.     Great post, thank you for sharing. I understand how essential it is to have the right app to increase productivity and provide simple ways to manage information effectively. Maybe not a new one but I just found out an app for managing meetings perfectly. I use a meeting minutes app that helps me organize and track my meetings, agenda, participants and action items.
