19 New Productivity Apps in Nov. 2012

The month of November brought new task management apps, presentation and spreadsheet tools, search aids, note pads, communication tools, and a virtual assistant.

November also launched the Windows Phone 8 platform. If you’re interested in developing apps for Windows Phone 8, download the Windows Phone SDK for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5 devices.

Here is a list of November’s new mobile productivity apps for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Phone. Some of the Windows Phone apps are new updates for the Windows Phone 8 platform. There are both paid and free apps.

Android

Dragon Mobile Assistant. This mobile assistant directs your search and task experience with a personal, conversational design. Speak naturally to access a wide range of content. Make a call, send a text message, update social media, and more. Price: Free.

Todoist. Todoist is a to-do list and personal task manager. Add and manage unlimited tasks, organize tasks into projects, save your task lists to the cloud, access lists online or offline. Price: Free.

PlanMaker Mobile. Open, edit, and save all your Microsoft Excel worksheets with data, formulas, and formatting intact. Display your Excel worksheets like they look on your PC. Price: $9.99.

Presentations. Open, edit, and save all your PowerPoint files while preserving formatting and content. The app displays your presentations like they look on your PC, including animations and slide transitions. Price: $9.99.

Cloud SMS. Read and write SMS messages right from your Android tablet. Cloud SMS runs on both your phone and tablet to allow you to send and receive SMS messaging from your tablet. Price: $0.99.

Buzzdock Search. Keep up with trends. Quickly browse top trending topics or search on your own. Enhanced results, including YouTube and Twitter, help keep you informed. Price: Free.

Apple iOS

Notes by iBear. This is an app to keep your handwriting notes and sketches. Features writing tools, such as Felt Pen, Fountain Pen, highlighter. Also includes task and time paper sets. Price: $4.99.

URL2PDF. Convert URL pages to PDFs. Add page numeration and cover pages. Copy the files to your computer. Price: $0.99.

BTT Remote. BTT Remote is a remote control for your Mac. Take control of your Mac and its apps. Browse your file system, navigate between applications, and configure actions for any application. Price: $1.99.

CloudClipboard. Manage and sync your clipboard with ease. Sync iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch clipboards with iCloud. Your system clipboard content is automatically pasted into CloudClipboard, even if you are using other applications. Price: $3.99.

iAchievement. iAchievement is an inspirational goal-management application. Keep track of your life goals. Features achievement style entry, progress tracking, and customizable categories with ten icons. Price: $1.99.

Ever2Drop for iPad. This is a powerful file-manager and file-viewer app, especially for Dropbox and Evernote users. With Ever2Drop, you can easily organize files and notes in your Dropbox and Evernote accounts with a simple “drag and drop.” Price: $2.99.

Notebook Plus. Notebook is a powerful app for handwriting and organizing notes, sketches, diagrams, illusions and drawings. With Notebook you can take notes, keep sketches, record ideas, and draw pictures wherever you are. Price: $2.99.

Windows Phone

Skype. Make free Skype-to-Skype video and voice calls, as well as send instant messages to friends and family around the world with this preview of Skype for Windows Phone 8. Price: Free.

PowerTasks. PowerTasks is a to-do and task management app. Tasks are orange on days before a date is due and red on or after due date. Backup tasks to your SkyDrive account. Price: Free.

Battery Meter. Battery Meter shows your current battery percentage and estimated discharge time. It displays remaining percentage and discharge time in the live tile. Price: Free.

CloudMagic. Magically find anything when you need it the most. Search across Gmail, Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, Dropbox, Box, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Chat, iCloud, AOL, Mail.com, and GMX. Price: Free.

Feather Notes. Feather Notes is a Simplenote client for Windows Phone that allows you to share notes across all your devices. Access notes even when you don’t have a network connection; Feather Notes will sync all your changes once you are back online. Tag and search notes, and pin your favorite notes so you can find your most important notes quickly. Price: Free.

Blueprints. Blueprints is a Tumblr client with an attractive look and feel that matches your Windows Phone. For the Windows Phone 8 launch, the trial version of Blueprints is full-featured for two months. Price: $0.99.
