Bed Bath & Beyond has acquired PersonalizationMall.com, an online retailer of personalized products based in Burr Ridge, Ill., for approximately $190 million in cash. PMall.com offers an assortment of products that can be customized through a variety of different personalization processes including sublimation, embroidery, digital printing, engraving, and sandblasting.
Google Releases Two New Omnichannel Metrics. Google has added distance and location reports to AdWords reporting tools. The metric informs merchants how far away consumers are from a store when they search. The location and distance reporting is available now for search campaigns. Google plans to offer it for merchants’ Google Shopping campaigns soon.
Crate & Barrel Launches an Online Marketplace. Crate & Barrel has launched an online marketplace, similar to Amazon and eBay, where retailers and brands can sell directly on Crate & Barrel’s ecommerce site. Products will be for sale alongside Crate & Barrel’s products. Marketplace products will be shipped by marketplace sellers.
uberall Launches Engage, a Tool to Influence Consumer Buying Decisions. uberall, a European provider of digital location management, has announced the launch of its local social engagement tool, Engage. The tool enables businesses to make more sales by influencing local customers’ purchasing decisions at key moments in the sales cycle. The tool also leverages the new offer feature of Facebook’s API.
