Some email services now allow the sender to determine the geographic location of recipients, and this is called geo tracking. Geo tracking allows merchants to focus email campaigns by targeting specific geographical regions. For instance, a swimwear merchant might send swimming suit offers only to warmer climates during winter months, while a fleece jacket seller would do better to concentrate on cooler locations.
