Hundreds of third-party applications and utilities are available to enhance your marketing efforts on Twitter. Here are ten that I use and recommend.
Twitterfeed automates publishing of content from your blog or any site that supports RSS feeds to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Using it, merchants can bring content to a wider audience and track their performance in real time.
The site offers a filtering function, which allows you to send only those posts that contain selected keywords to social networks. The filter looks at the “title” and “description” RSS feed elements, but does not filter based on categories, links, or another item.
Setting up feeds for distribution involves just two steps. First, input your site’s URL and Twitterfeed will automatically extract your RSS feed. Next, choose the social networks where you want content distributed, and you’re done.
Twitterfeed is free to use.

That is beneficial because it helps keep your Twitter account clean and focused on those who are most likely to engage with your brand.

Topsy is a free-to-use, real-time Twitter search engine that includes limited analytics capability.
According to the site, unlike traditional web search engines, Topsy indexes and ranks search results based on the most influential conversations millions of people are having every day about each specific term, topic, page, or domain queried.
It also allows you to compare search terms based on domain name, @username, or keyword.
TweetChat helps you identify hashtags related to specific topics and connect with people who are talking about them. Choosing an hashtag directs you to a chat room where you can see related conversations.
In the event multiple chats run at the same time, TweetChat presents a list of rooms from which you can choose.
The chat room updates each time a tweet containing the hashtag is posted. You can pause updates so that when you scroll down the page, it will not refresh.
You can also use TweetChat to run your own hashtag chats. A calendar presents a list of scheduled chats and allows you to add your event.
TweetChat is free to use.
